Infertility Treatment
Infertility is not a single disease but the consequence of many possible factors. Natural conception requires four conditions: adequate sperm production and ejaculation in the male, regular ovulation with patent fallopian tubes in the female, sperm and egg meeting and fertilizing, and a healthy embryo implanting and growing in the uterus. Doğuş IVF Center performs a comprehensive diagnostic panel to identify the affected step and tailors treatment accordingly.
Female Causes
Ovulatory disorders (PCOS, hypothalamic amenorrhea, premature ovarian insufficiency), tubal blockage (post-infection, endometriosis), intrauterine adhesions (Asherman syndrome), endometriosis, anti-sperm antibodies and advanced maternal age are the most common female causes. Thyroid disease and hyperprolactinemia also impair fertility.
Male Causes
Genetic conditions (Klinefelter, Y-chromosome microdeletions, vas deferens agenesis), undescended testes history, varicocele, hormonal imbalance, post-infectious damage (mumps orchitis), chemotherapy/radiotherapy, smoking, alcohol, systemic diseases (diabetes, hypertension), erectile and ejaculatory dysfunction are common; in some cases no cause is found (idiopathic).
Diagnostic Workup
For the female partner: gynecological exam, transvaginal ultrasound, AMH, FSH, LH, E2, prolactin, TSH and—when indicated—HSG or hysteroscopy. For the male partner: semen analysis, hormone panel (FSH, LH, testosterone) and karyotype/Y-microdeletion if needed. Both partners undergo an infection panel.
Treatment Options
Treatment is tailored to the cause: ovulation induction with clomiphene or gonadotropins for ovulatory disorders; IUI for mild male-factor or unexplained infertility; IVF when the woman is older or has tubal/moderate-severe male issues; ICSI ± TESA/TESE for severe male factor; PGT for genetic conditions; surgical correction for tubal/uterine problems; donor or surrogacy programs when indicated.

Frequently Asked Questions
Until what age can I conceive?
Female fertility declines sharply after age 35; natural pregnancy rates drop below 5% after 40. Egg donation can be considered after that.
Is infertility treatable?
In most cases, treatment matched to the cause leads to pregnancy. Earlier diagnosis significantly improves success.
Can stress cause infertility?
Severe stress can disturb ovulation but is not a sole cause of infertility.
How long does treatment take?
Diagnosis to first treatment usually takes 1–2 months; treatment lasts 2–6 months depending on type.
